I just bought a Faberware spatula and was making osme nachos and it melted the plastic (its suppose to be 415 degrees), but melted like butter.

So what should I use.
I cook alot using 2 inch greese with my stainless steel pans ( I love them - theyre like mini deep fryers)

But what will withstand the heat without messing up the pan.

I have one person saying, a metal spatula will scratch and damage them and another person saying using metal in stainless steel will create a PATINA??? which they made sound a good thing.

So whos right?
What do you use with your stainless steel cookware?

We just got a shipment of enamel-coated cast iron cookware today and the skillet seems to have unfinished enamel on it. There′s a small, pin-sized hole on the bottom on the inside. We were wondering if anything could get between the enamel and the cast iron or if it might chip at a later date?

Or any other problems it might cause? Please let us know if we need to return the product.
