Once I put a pan up and started preheating it and forgot about it being on the stove. Needless to say the house filled up with this horrible chemical smell and I got sick and ill from it for the rest of the day. I always thought there had to be some bad chemical released that had ill effects on the body.
Teflon pans are dangerous indeed. If only people knew that their pans are polluting their homes, it would certainly stop a great deal of needless degradation.
It is amazing how issues as critical as this are drowned out by ball games and mindless fluff.
These vapors are also toxic to pet birds, and that is why I have never owned non-stick pans. I use stainless steel.
